Filed: March 13, 2017 ◆§ 4:17-cv-00152-JLH
An Arkansas man claims in a proposed class action lawsuit that Universal Fidelity LP, sent allegedly misleading debt collection letters.
An Arkansas man claims in a proposed class action lawsuit that defendants Universal Fidelity LP, Link Revenue Resources LLC and one individual unlawfully failed to clearly convey in a collection notice the exact procedure by which he could dispute his debt. From the lawsuit:
“As [the plaintiff] knew he did not owe the amount alleged to any creditor, along with [the defendant Universal’s] statement to fill out the dispute form on the back of the letter when no dispute form was on the back of the letter, and [defendant Universal] had advised [the plaintiff] to both call and write to dispute the debt, this caused [the plaintiff] to become frustrated, angry, and stressed, due to [defendant Universal’s] contradictory statements to [the plaintiff] contained in its initial communication to [the plaintiff].”
