Seegert v. Rexall Sundown, Inc.
Filed: June 19, 2017 ◆§ 3:17-cv-01243-JAH-JMA
A proposed class action filed in California alleges defendant Rexall Sundown, Inc.'s 'Osteo Bi-Flex' brand of glucosamine products do not support better joint health.
A proposed class action filed in California alleges defendant Rexall Sundown, Inc.’s “Osteo Bi-Flex” brand of glucosamine products, contrary to how they’re marketed, labeled and advertised, provide no health benefits that support joint health. The 29-page lawsuit argues Rexall Sundown’s representations of its product are designed to induce consumers, namely the elderly, into believing Osteo Bi-Flex can provide “meaningful joint benefits” even though the products “are worthless.”
The case mentions the following products:
- Osteo Bi-Flex One Per Day
- Osteo Bi-Flex Triple Strength
- Osteo Bi-Flex Triple Strength MSM
- Osteon Bi-Flex Triple Strength with Vitamin D
Despite claims that Osteo Bi-Flex can improve range of motion and joint comfort while strengthening joints overall, the lawsuit, citing reputable scientific reviews and meta-analyses, argues Rexall Sundown deceived consumers even though the company possessed specialized knowledge of the content and purported effects of its products.
