Filed: October 17, 2016 ◆§ 3:16-cv-05964-MEJ
A class action lawsuit filed in California against DirecTV and AT&T claims the companies broke state and federal labor laws.
A class action lawsuit filed in California against DirecTV and AT&T claims the companies broke state and federal labor laws by failing to pay installers for all hours worked. Specifically, the suit alleges installers were not paid for the first hour of “excess commute time” before their first installation and after their last installation of the day. Under California labor law, it automatically counts as a minimum wage violation when an employee is not compensated for every hour of the day spent working. The suit looks to certify two subclasses of workers who were paid on either a piece rate or hourly basis by DirecTV & AT&T within the last four years.
