Saunders v. CitiBank, N.A.
Filed: August 31, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-23305-DPG
A Florida consumer's lawsuit claims CitiBank, N.A. placed automatically dialed robocalls to consumers' cell phones without permission to do so.
CitiBank, N.A. is staring down a proposed class action filed by a Florida consumer who alleges the bank unlawfully placed telemarketing calls to her cell phone without express permission to do so. The plaintiff claims she began receiving the calls in June 2017 and then, on more than one occasion, expressly revoked any consent CitiBank “may have had or believed it had” to contact her. The case alleges the calls were placed using automatic dialing technology, the use of which is prohibited for non-emergency purposes under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
