Chevron Products Company (which does business as Havoline Xpress Lube) is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it charges consumers 'bogus' recycling and shop supply fees to change the oil in their cars.
Chevron Products Company (which does business as Havoline Xpress Lube) is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it charges consumers “bogus” recycling and shop supply fees to change the oil in their cars. According to the lawsuit, the defendant represents the recycling charges as “legitimate governmental and/or regulatory” fees when “no such lawful regulatory charge” exists and demands fees for “unspecified shop supplies” when no extra supplies are used in a regular oil change. The suit argues that these “fictional” charges cause consumers to overpay for their oil changes without any knowledge that they are being overcharged.
