Connecticut
A proposed class action has been filed against Century Financial Services, Inc. (which does business as Century Healthcare Collection in Connecticut) after the defendant allegedly failed to clearly identify a consumer’s creditor in a collection letter. The plaintiff in the case claims the debt collector sent her a letter “regarding an alleged debt owed to an unidentified creditor.” The suit notes that the letter named “Ne Medical Group-Bpt” as its “client” but did not specifically label any entity as the creditor to whom the debt was owed as required by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
