Filed: February 8, 2017 ◆§ 6:17-cv-00221-GAP-GJK
A proposed class action filed against Central Florida Regional Hospital, Inc. (CFRH) and Transworld Systems, Inc. claims the companies violated the TCPA.
A proposed class action filed against Central Florida Regional Hospital, Inc. (CFRH) and Transworld Systems, Inc. claims the companies unlawfully used an automatic telephone dialing system to place unwanted robocalls to consumers’ cell phones. Citing alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the case claims the plaintiff has received more than 220 unsolicited debt collection calls from the defendants in the last four years. The defendants allegedly left the plaintiff voicemails regarding a past-due account with the hospital.
From the lawsuit:
“In or around August 2016 [the plaintiff] answered one of the telephone calls on his cellular telephone, after a brief pause he was then transferred to a live agent. Next, [the plaintiff] listened to the agent state the call was from Defendant Transworld and the reason for the call was for $150 (approximately) debt owed on a medical bill for a visit to the emergency room at CFRH on May 30, 2015.”
