Jeffries v. Volume Services America, Inc.
Filed: September 1, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-01788
Food/beverage concessions company Volume Services America, which does business as Centerplate, is facing a class action in D.C. over alleged FACTA violations.
District of Columbia
Food and beverage concessions group Volume Services America, Inc., which operates as Centerplate and Centerplate/NBSE, is the defendant in a proposed class action alleging the company illegally printed too much information on customers’ payment receipts. According to the complaint, the defendant violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) by printing on receipts more than the last five digits and expiration dates of customers’ payment cards. The case describes the defendant’s alleged FACTA violations as particularly egregious because the company supposedly “printed and disclosed the [plaintiff’s] entire card number and entire expiration date.”
