Nguyen v. Hamner Express Wash
Filed: August 30, 2017 ◆§ 5:17-cv-01760
A lawsuit claims Norco, CA's Hamner Express Wash unlawfully printed too many digits of a consumer's credit card on payment receipts.
California
A California consumer claims in a proposed class action that Hamner Express Wash violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) after it, on two separate occasions, printed a few too many digits of two of the woman’s credit cards on receipts. The case claims the receipts unlawfully displayed the first and last four digits of the plaintiff’s payment card numbers despite FACTA requirements stating no business that accepts credit or debit payments may print more than the last five digits of a card number or a card’s expiration date.
