Following a trend this week, Capital Grille is the latest New York City eatery to be hit with a class action claiming its website does not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Filed by a legally blind woman—the same plaintiff named on numerous other ADA compliance cases we’ve written about this week—the lawsuit claims TheCapitalGrille.com contains accessibility barriers that prevent blind and disabled individuals from navigating the site or conducting business transactions without assistance. Further, the lawsuit claims the site’s accessibility roadblocks prevent disabled users from using assistive screen-reading software.
The plaintiff claims she was attempting to make a reservation on Capital Grille’s website but was unable to because of the site’s entirely visual interface.
