A blind man has filed suit against Bonchon LLC and four affiliates claiming the restaurant companies’ website is inaccessible to the blind population. The suit alleges that bonchon.com allows users to access the restaurant’s hours of operation, view the menu, order food online for pick-up or delivery, buy gift cards, and find out information about deals and promotions. The plaintiff says he was unable to enjoy these services because of various access barriers on the site, including a lack of alternative text and empty or redundant links that result in navigation difficulties for the plaintiff’s screen-reading software. The plaintiff says he intends on visiting the defendants’ site once the access barriers are removed and the site no longer discriminates against blind people.
