Florida
Bluegreen Vacations Unlimited, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the defendant placed illegal telemarketing calls to consumers’ landlines in an attempt to sell them vacation packages. The plaintiff says he received several calls from Bluegreen Vacations even after requesting that it stop calling him and despite his number reportedly being registered on the National Do Not Call list. According to the suit, the plaintiff never consented to receive the calls and had no prior business relationship with the defendant. “As a result of Bluegreen’s repeated intrusive and unwanted telemarketing calls within a 12-month period,” the complaint argues, “Plaintiff suffered actual harm in the form of annoyance, nuisance, and invasion of privacy.”
