A blind man has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Bowl 360 Inc. over allegations that the company’s website, which provides access to its various goods and services, is incompatible with screen-reading technology used by blind internet users. The defendant allegedly operates an entertainment center and its corresponding website – www.bowl360.nyc – that provides users with information concerning hours and location, a food menu, an event schedule, a list of prohibited items, and the ability to purchase admission tickets and gift cards. The plaintiff says he attempted to access the defendant’s website but was met with several obstacles including a lack of alternative text to translate images into readable content and empty or redundant links that he claims resulted in confusion and needless repetition.
