Audi of America LLC and its parent company Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. have been named in another class action filed over concealed 'defeat devices' that it hid.
Audi of America LLC and its parent company Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. have been named in another class action filed over concealed “defeat devices” that hid from consumers and regulators the unlawfully high levels of pollutants emitted from Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche vehicles. The 68-page suit out of California says the defeat devices circumvent carbon dioxide emissions controls by running the engine at a low speed, but only when the vehicles in question are undergoing regulatory emissions testing. “During normal operation,” the lawsuit argues, “this program is deactivated, and the vehicles emit carbon dioxide at levels significantly higher than the legal limit.”
This particular action focuses on Audi vehicles sold in the U.S.
