Abrantes v. Aig Direct Insurance Services, Inc. et al
Filed: October 31, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv1514
AIG Direct Insurance Services is facing a lawsuit that alleges the company placed unsolicited promotional calls to the plaintiff’s cell phone.
California
AIG Direct Insurance Services, Inc. has been hit with a proposed class action that alleges the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing unsolicited promotional calls to the plaintiff’s cell phone.
According to the case, the plaintiff began receiving calls from the defendant in which the company advertised its life insurance services in April 2018. The man claims he did not provide the defendant with his express consent to receive the calls, and further claims that his number was listed in the National Do Not Call registry at the time he began receiving the calls.
Moreover, the suit says that even though the plaintiff asked the company during one of the initial calls to stop contacting him, the defendant “failed to establish and implement reasonable practices and procedures to effectively prevent” more telemarketing calls from being placed.
