A proposed class action citing violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) has been filed against Advantage Collection Professionals, LLC. The eight-page complaint, filed in Wisconsin district court, claims the defendant called the plaintiff’s cell phone insisting she pay her debt, but never sent her a written communication containing FDCPA-mandated information. Under the FDCPA, debt collectors must send debtors written notice containing certain information, including a debt validation notice, within five days of initial contact.
