The official website for the Fandango settlement is live and can be found at FandangoTicketFeeSettlement.com.
The deal, which was preliminarily approved by the court in late October 2024, covers anyone in the United States who paid a convenience fee to purchase movie tickets online for any movie theater located in New York state from Fandango’s website, mobile app and/or any other Fandango-owned platform between August 29, 2022 and March 11, 2024.
To receive class action settlement benefits, class members must submit a claim form online by March 31, 2025.
To file a claim online, head to this page. You will be asked to provide your unique ID, which can be found on the personalized settlement notice you should have received via email.
Class members who submit a valid claim form by the deadline may be eligible to receive either a $5 cash payout or $10 voucher for Fandango at Home, a streaming platform formerly known as Vudu, the settlement agreement says. Per the document, the voucher can be used to rent or purchase TV shows and movies through the Fandango at Home app or website, currently found at Vudu.com.
In addition, to resolve allegations made in the Fandango class action lawsuit, the company has changed its website’s purchase flow for movie tickets to New York theaters to comply with the state’s Arts and Cultural Affairs Law, the settlement website shares.
The court will decide whether to grant final approval to the terms of the Fandango ticket fee settlement at a hearing scheduled for February 27, 2025 in New York. Eligible class members will receive an email with instructions on how to claim their Fandango settlement payout or voucher within 30 days after the deal is ultimately approved and any appeals are resolved, the site relays.
