Lawsuit Investigation: Is Your Halo Versa Pizza Oven Not Getting Hot Enough?

Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are investigating whether a class action lawsuit can be filed against the maker of the Halo Versa 16 pizza oven over possible false advertising. 

Although Halo advertises that the oven heats up to 950 degrees Fahrenheit in 12 minutes, attorneys have reason to believe the product never reaches this temperature, no matter how long it preheats. Some consumers have even reported that their Halo Versa 16 pizza ovens max out at around 700 to 800 degrees—and that they can take more than half an hour to get there.

Now, the attorneys need to speak with people who bought the pizza oven as they work to determine whether a lawsuit can be filed.

Online Complaints from Halo Versa Pizza Oven Customers

Consumers have complained in online reviews that their Halo Versa 16 pizza ovens fail to reach 950 degrees, with many reviewers claiming the product gets no hotter than 700 degrees.

Several commenters have noted that they’ve had difficulty using the product to make certain styles of pizza that require higher temperatures, like Neapolitan pizza, which typically needs to be cooked at around 800-900 degrees.

Others say their pizza ovens take far longer than 12 minutes to reach their lower-than-expected maximum temperatures.

Slow and temperature gauge is not accurate. Oven will never reach the 900F degree - it will cook a pizza in 4-5 minutes sure, you will need to warm it up for 30 minutes at least. Requested money back but they will not. I would definitely not recommend to anyone i know”

I’ve now used my oven 4 times. It does make great pizza, of what you might call new york style. Thicker crust than neopolitan with more toppings. The rotisserie function is great, cooking evenly. There are a couple of detractors though … like the Ooni Koda I replaced it has no door you can close to pre-heat or cook faster. That’s becoming a big issue for me because it is 16” wide and obviously the heat escapes out the front. It will not in any human time frame get up to 900 degrees. I’ve never gotten it much above 700 using an infrared thermometer”

I love my Versa 16 for NY style, Tavern/Chicago thin crust and Detroit, but if you really want to do Neapolitan at home get an OOni for that use them separately. The Halo maxes out at 800F. You can make ‘Neapolitan-ish’ with it I suppose.”
