Hilb Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Hilb data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
A data breach occurred at The Hilb Group Operating Company, LLC that reportedly affected 81,539 individuals. An unauthorized actor gained access to several employee email accounts between December 1, 2022 and January 12, 2023. The breach was discovered on January 10, 2023, and an investigation revealed that consumers' personal information, including names and Social Security Numbers, may have been compromised.
On November 2, 2023, the company reported to the Texas Attorney General that driver's license numbers, other government ID numbers, financial information (including account numbers and credit or debit card numbers), medical information and health insurance details may have also been exposed.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Hilb to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
