Uponor Lawsuit May be Viable Due to Failing Plumbing Fittings
Last Updated on June 27, 2017
Uponor Pex plumbing fittings, specifically the F1960 fitting, have been causing problems for a number of consumers, which is leading to a potential Uponor class action lawsuit. Many consumers cite low water pressure as one of the major issues cause by the defective plumbing fixtures, as well as premature failure of the fittings, sometimes within a matter of months after installation. This can cause severe water damage to a consumer’s home and/or personal belongings.
The company has admitted that they released a defective, unreasonably dangerous, and non-merchantable product on the market.
Reportedly, these defective Uponor plumbing fixtures were designed and manufactured incorrectly, causing cracking and leaking in many people’s homes. The company has admitted that they released a defective, unreasonably dangerous, and non-merchantable product on the market in the wake of the many Uponor Pex failures reported by consumers. Uponor have themselves filed a lawsuit against the company that manufactured the defective plumbing fixtures. Accordingly, they have ceased the sale of this style of Uponor fixture.
The defective plumbing fixtures in question do not actually say “Uponor” anywhere on them. Potentially defective Uponor Pex plumbing fittings can be identified by “P Pex” or “MB Pex” stamped on their side. All F1960 fittings involved in these Uponor lawsuits are made of brass, and have stainless steel clamps that may also read “P Pex” or “MB Pex.”
