GM Accused of Selling Vehicles with False Fuel-Economy Ratings
General Motors has been hit with a proposed class action claiming that it marketed and sold vehicles with false fuel-economy ratings. According to the complaint, 2016 Chevrolet Traverses, GMC Acadias and Buick Enclaves were advertised as EPA-rated at 19 miles per gallon on average (17mpg/city 24mpg/highway) when, in reality, they actually tested at an average of 17 miles per gallon (15mpg/city 22mpg/highway). The lawsuit says that that GM deceived consumers and caused them significant monetary loss in the form of both fuel and decreased value of their vehicles.

Bank of America has been hit with a lawsuit over gender discrimination. The suit claims that the bank paid its female senior traders less than their male counterparts and retaliated against them when they complained about the disparity. Named plaintiff Megan Messina is looking to claim at least $6 million in damages from the suit.

Both General Nutrition Centers and Coach Outlet stores have been added to the list of stores hit with fake sale price lawsuits. The companies are now facing proposed class actions claiming they used fabricated “original” prices to make their sales prices look more appealing to consumers.
Earth’s Best Accused of Falsely Advertising Baby Formula
A lawsuit filed against Hain Celestial Group is claiming that it falsely labeled its Earth’s Best brand baby formula as “organic” when it actually contains a slew of synthetic ingredients. According to the suit, the National Organic Standards Board specifically refused to add some of the formula’s ingredients to a list of those permitted to be included in organic foods – including ascorbic palmitate, taurine and lutein.
