Apple Wi-Fi Defect Lawsuit Meets Its End
Apple was previously entangled in a proposed class action that claimed some of the company’s iPhones had a defect that could result in cellular data overages. Allegedly, the defect would disable Wi-Fi connectivity for no particular reason. On Wednesday, Apple and the iPhone users agreed to dismiss the case with prejudice. No other details were given regarding the dismissal.
Bigelow Tea Label Lawsuits Dismissed
Two putative class actions claiming that Bigelow teas’ labeling is misleading were dismissed on Wednesday. According to the lawsuits, Bigelow claimed its teas had antioxidant-related health benefits when they really didn’t. Judge William H. Orrick granted Bigelow’s request for summary judgment because some of the plaintiff’s evidence couldn’t be admitted, among other issues. The plaintiff’s attorney is looking to present the case before the Ninth Circuit next.
Hyundai Finance Division Facing Robocall Class Action
Hyundai Motor Finance has been accused of knowingly violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by unleashing a barrage of robocalls on consumers. According to the lawsuit, named plaintiff Jeremy Klein has been receiving calls from Hyundai for the past several years, even though he doesn’t own a Hyundai vehicle, never gave Hyundai his contact info and asked that the calls stop. Klein is looking to represent a group of other people who were robocalled by Hyundai.
Hair Relaxer Lawsuits
Women who developed ovarian or uterine cancer after using hair relaxers such as Dark & Lovely and Motions may now have an opportunity to take legal action.
