Lifetime Bargains over TCPA Class Action

Television network Lifetime was previously accused of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by using unsolicited robocalls to promote its programs. On Wednesday, Lifetime requested that it be able to make a deal with the customer who brought the proposed class action forward. Lifetime is looking to make the plaintiff accept a settlement of $1,503, saying that their offer is three dollars more than he would be able to win in court. If the court allows the deal and bars Lifetime from violating the TCPA, then the terms of the settlement would be satisfied and the case should be closed, according to the network.
