Sanofi has been hit with a lawsuit claiming that it knowingly misrepresented the facts of its breast cancer treatment drug, Taxotere. According to the lawsuit, Sanofi employees were trained to provide deceptive information about the safety and effectiveness of Taxotere, while doctors were bribed to coax them into prescribing the drug for unapproved uses. The plaintiff claims that the drug has a higher toxicity than similar medications and could cause side effects that aren’t limited to permanent hair loss. Sanofi allegedly hid opinions and studies that they didn’t agree with – including studies from the Food and Drug Administration.
