Amazon Drivers Claim They Were Denied OT Wages

A group of former delivery service drivers launched a suit against Amazon claiming that the company violated federal labor laws by denying them overtime pay, as well as tips customers paid for their deliveries. According to the lawsuit, the drivers were consistently required to work close to fifty hours a week, but didn’t earn overtime because they were misclassified as independent contractors. The plaintiffs argue that they are not independent contractors because they are required to work specific hours, are paid by the hour, and are not allowed to refuse any deliveries.
