United Repair Plans, LLC; Marathon Financial, Inc.; AGW Company, LLC; and Royal Administration Services, Inc. are facing a proposed class action lawsuit that claims the parties violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing unsolicited robocalls to consumers’ phones. The plaintiff claims he received at least 10 prerecorded phone calls from the defendants despite his number being on the National Do Not Call Registry since 2009. The calls, according to the complaint, attempted to sell the plaintiff an extended warranty for his vehicle that he says he never wanted. The suit argues that the plaintiff had no prior business relationship with the defendants and had not provided his consent to receive the calls.
