Charvat v. The Southard Corporation
Filed: March 6, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv190
An Ohio consumer claims the Southard Corporation placed cold calls through a prohibited automatic telephone dialing system without consent.
The Southard Corporation finds itself as the defendant in a proposed class action filed by an Ohio consumer over robocalls allegedly placed by the company without consent. The defendant, which operates as Renewal by Andersen of Columbus, allegedly utilized an automatic telephone dialing system to cold call potential customers with whom it had no prior relationship. The plaintiff claims he received unsolicited calls from the defendant on at least three occasions in January 2018. During one call, the complaint says, the plaintiff was informed by a Renewal by Anderson employee that the defendant had purchased his information from an online lead generation company.
