California
Oportun Financial Corporation is facing a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it placed illegal robocalls to consumers’ cell phones without their prior consent. The plaintiff in the case says she received four phone calls from the defendant advertising its financial services despite never having provided the company with her phone number or consent to be contacted. The suit argues that the calls were made using auto-dialing technology and violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
