Liberty Power Corp, L.L.C. has been named in a proposed class action alleging it unlawfully placed autodialed telemarketing calls to consumers’ phones without their consent in an attempt to advertise the company’s energy services. According to the complaint, the plaintiff received a call from the defendant on March 13, 2018, in which he was greeted with a prerecorded message urging him to “press 1” to speak with a live representative. The man claims he never consented to receive such a call and was charged for it by his phone company. The suit argues that the call, which was allegedly placed using automated dialing technology, constituted a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
