Filed: May 5, 2017 ◆§ 3:17-cv-00957-JZ
DHC Business Solutions and Ascension Services, L.P. are the defendants in a proposed class action alleging that they violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
DHC Business Solutions and Ascension Services, L.P. are the defendants in a proposed class action lawsuit alleging that they violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by failing to clearly state required disclosures in their collection letters. According to the complaint, the plaintiff received a letter from DHC (which supposedly acquired Ascension Services) instructing him to submit any disputes regarding the alleged debt within 45 days; however, the debt collector failed to specify that the dispute must be made in writing, the suit argues.
The plaintiff further claims that the defendants neglected to clearly identify his current creditor in the collection letter, in violation of the FDCPA.
