Georgia
New England Auto Finance, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a Georgia woman who claims it illegally used an autodialing system to send her several text message advertisements without her prior consent. According to the suit, the plaintiff took out a loan with the defendant in November 2014 and refused to sign its text message consent provision. She says she finished paying off the loan in August 2015, and sometime after that, received a text message advertising the defendant’s services. The complaint claims the plaintiff also received a telephone call and at least nine more text messages from New England Auto Finance, though she allegedly demanded, on three separate occasions, that it stop calling/texting her.
