Florida
Rapid Response Monitoring Services, Inc. has been hit with a proposed class action filed by a Florida man who alleges the company placed “incessant” automated telemarketing calls to his cell phone without prior consent. The plaintiff says that when he picked up the phone, he was greeted with “an artificial computer voice” and instructed to hold until he could be connected to a live representative. The case claims the calls were not made for emergency purposes but instead placed in an attempt to solicit the man’s business and promote the defendant’s security services. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff never gave the defendant permission to call him and didn’t have an established business relationship with the company.
