A New York man has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Frontline Asset Strategies, LLC over claims that the debt collector failed to clearly specify the amount of his alleged debt. The plaintiff says he received a collection notice from the defendant that stated his account balance, a “Total Due as of Charge-off,” and an amount for “Total Interest Accrued Since Charge-off.” The suit argues that the letter failed, however, to indicate to the plaintiff whether his balance is increasing and neglected to provide him with further details that would allow him to calculate how much he truly owes on a given day – an alleged violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
