Florida
A Florida consumer has filed a proposed class action against United Auto Credit Corporation over supposed violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The plaintiff charges the non-prime auto lender “robocalled” her cell phone without first obtaining prior express consent to do so. According to the complaint, the plaintiff never applied for credit nor opened an account with the defendant before the automatically dialed calls began. The plaintiff claims the defendant called her in an attempt to reach her father, who reportedly listed the plaintiff as a reference on a loan application.
