Life insurance company AIG Direct Insurance Services, Inc. allegedly placed unsolicited, wide scale telemarketing calls to consumers’ cell phones, including to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry, in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, a proposed class action lawsuit claims. Filed in Florida, the 18-page complaint says AIG, in an attempt to solicit business, “casted its marketing net too wide” when it allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call consumers “that never provided consent to be called” and “with whom it had no prior dealings or relationship.”
