Notice of Right to Opt Out of "Sale"
At ClassAction.org, we do our best to help consumers protect their right to privacy. From data breaches and hacks to biometric privacy and background checks, we let you know when and how companies have violated your rights.
States, including California and Nevada, have been at the forefront of crafting laws that protect the privacy of citizens. One of the fundamental principles of these is:
You Have the Right Not to Have Your Personal Information Sold
We respect and comply with these laws, and we’ve crafted a Privacy Notice that we hope is clear, with limited jargon. You have the right to request that we do not sell any of your personal information under California and Nevada privacy laws.
What does this mean?
Unfortunately, these privacy laws consider selling personal information in a broad way – including when we share your personal information with the law firms that we work with.
Consequently, if you choose to exercise your right not to have your personal information sold, or in our case shared, we will not be able to send your information to the attorneys we work with. If you make this choice, you can of course continue to use our website and subscribe to our newsletter. If you would like to exercise your right to not have your personal information sold, please email us at privacy@classaction.org.
