UNITE HERE Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the UNITE HERE data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
UNITE HERE, which handles health, welfare and employment data, is notifying individuals of a data breach impacting certain unions and health funds associated with the company.
On October 20, 2023, UNITE HERE discovered that an unauthorized third party had gained access to its systems, which contained details on members and staff from certain health funds, local unions and the San Diego UNITE HERE Pension fund.
The information that may have been compromised includes names, Social Security numbers, driver's license details, state identification numbers, alien registration numbers, tribal identification numbers, passport numbers, birth certificates, dates of birth, marriage licenses, signatures, financial account details and medical information. A total of 791,273 individuals have been potentially impacted by this breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force UNITE HERE to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
