Truist Bank Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Truist Bank data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
In June 2024, Truist Bank confirmed that its systems had been breached in October 2023 after a threat actor made a post on the dark web stating that private information was up for sale.
The post, published under the name Sp1d3r, said stolen data on 65,000 employees, as well as bank transactions with names, account numbers and balances, was available for purchase at a price point of $1 million.
Reports say the bank is notifying employees and some customers of the Truist data breach, an investigation into which is ongoing.
BB&T and SunTrust merged in 2019 to form Truist Bank.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Truist Bank to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
