As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
A recent data breach at The Medibase Group, Inc. has compromised personal and health information of certain individuals associated with healthcare providers that Medibase services. The cyberattack occurred on January 26, 2024 and involved unauthorized access to one of Medibase's systems.
According to the company's online data breach notice, the compromised data may include full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, admission and discharge dates, outstanding balance amounts, and insurance information. Medibase has completed its review of the incident and is in the process of mailing data breach notices to affected individuals.
A sample data breach notice submitted to the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, which is displayed below, indicates that Staten Island University Hospital is among the healthcare providers affected by the Medibase Group data breach. Medibase provides software solutions, technical assistance and business office solutions within the healthcare industry.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Medibase Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
