The Facial Pain Center Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Facial Pain Center data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
The Facial Pain Center, PLLC, which provides sleep apnea and TMD treatments out of several locations in Minnesota, recently experienced a data breach impacting certain patients' information. The breach, occurring between January 11 and January 23, 2024, involved unauthorized access to employee email accounts. According to an online data breach notice, this access was limited to the company's Microsoft 365 cloud environment and did not involve its internal network or patient records database.
The personal data potentially exposed includes names, demographic and medical information, health insurance details, and dates of birth.
Notifications were sent to affected individuals for whom address information was available. A report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services indicates that 238,667 people were impacted in the Facial Pain Center data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force The Facial Pain Center to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
