Texas Panhandle Centers Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Texas Panhandle Centers data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Texas Panhandle Centers, which provides behavioral and developmental health services, reported that an unauthorized party gained access to its computer systems in mid-October 2023. An investigation completed in April 2024 revealed that files potentially taken by the bad actor may have contained sensitive personal information, including names, dates of birth, driver's license or state identification numbers, and, for some individuals, Social Security numbers.
Certain medical information, such as medical record numbers, lab results, medications, diagnoses and treatment information, may have also been compromised in the Texas Panhandle Centers data breach. Notice is now being sent to affected individuals, and the company's website notice of the data security incident can be seen below.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Texas Panhandle Centers to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
