Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Sunflower Medical Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Sunflower Medical Group, P.A. experienced a data breach involving unauthorized access to its systems that allowed a third party to copy certain files. The breach occurred on or about December 15, 2024 and was identified by Sunflower on January 7, 2025. Subsequently, a forensic investigation revealed on February 24, 2025 that the data compromised may have included personal information such as names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, medical information, and health insurance details.
A report to the Maine Attorney General's Office indicates that 220,968 individuals were potentially affected by the Sunflower Medical Group data breach.
Sunflower has offices in Lenexa East and Roeland Park, Kansas and operates Heartland Primary Care locations in Lenexa West and Kansas City, Kansas.
