Summit Pathology Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Summit Pathology data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
In a recent data breach, Summit Pathology and Summit Pathology Laboratories, Inc. experienced unauthorized access to their computer systems, potentially compromising sensitive personal information. The suspicious activity was first identified on April 18, 2024, prompting Summit to secure its network and conduct an investigation with the help of third-party forensic experts. The investigation revealed that cybercriminals may have accessed or acquired files containing various types of patient data. This information includes names; addresses; medical billing and insurance details; medical information such as diagnoses; and demographic data, including dates of birth, Social Security numbers and financial information.
Summit, which provides pathology services to hospital systems and physician offices in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska, is sending direct notice to patients whose information may have been affected by the Summit Pathology data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Summit Pathology to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
