Sabre Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Sabre data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On September 6, 2023, Sabre GLBL Inc. discovered that some of its employee-related information had been compromised by an unauthorized third party, with some of the data reportedly being posted on the dark web through October 2023.
Upon discovering the incident, Sabre initiated its incident response protocols to investigate and implement containment measures. The travel technology and software company also notified relevant law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
Sabre’s notice to affected individuals states that the potentially compromised information may include names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, employment-related details, financial account numbers, identification documents (e.g., passports, driver’s licenses, or national ID numbers), and signatures.
According to a TechCrunch article from early September 2023, the Dunghill Leak group took responsibility for the cyberattack. The group claimed at the time to have obtained approximately 1.3 terabytes of Sabre data, including databases on ticket sales, passenger turnover, employees’ personal data and corporate financial information, TechCrunch wrote.
It’s been reported that the Sabre data breach has impacted 29,590 individuals.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Sabre to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
