RRCA Accounts Management Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the RRCA Accounts Management data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
RRCA Accounts Management, Inc., a full-service collection agency, experienced a ransomware attack initiated by the Play threat actors on June 6, 2024. The intrusion was stopped on June 7, 2024, but not before the cybercriminals accessed parts of the company's systems without authorization. The breach led to the full release of personal information belonging to customers of RRCA's clients, which include healthcare providers and other businesses whose data is collected for outstanding payments.
The data compromised in the RRCA Accounts Management data breach included sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, taxpayer IDs and contact information; health-related data, including medical record numbers, places of treatment and doctors; health insurance information and payment details, such as billing and insurance claims and payment card and account numbers; usernames and IP addresses; and demographic information. Each individual's breached data varied and did not necessarily encompass all these data elements.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force RRCA Accounts Management to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
