Rio Hondo College Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Rio Hondo College data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Rio Hondo Community College District, a college outside Los Angeles, has notified individuals of a data breach involving personal information of current and former students. The breach, discovered in October 2023, involved unauthorized access to the college's network between October 12 and October 19, 2023, resulting in the exposure of names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and full dates of birth. Rio Hondo worked with cybersecurity experts to investigate and conduct a review of the impacted files and is now sending notice to those affected.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Rio Hondo College to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
