Regional Obstetrical Consultants PC (ROC), which has locations in Tennessee and Georgia, has disclosed a data breach that may have compromised the sensitive personal information of certain individuals.
Upon discovering suspicious network activity on May 6, 2024, Regional Obstetrical Consultants secured its network and enlisted a cybersecurity firm to determine the extent of the incident. They found that unauthorized access had occurred, leading to the exposure of various personal data, including names, addresses, financial account information, health insurance information, Social Security numbers, and medical data, such as prescriptions, lab test results, diagnoses and treatment details. Information exposed in the Regional Obstetrical Consultants data breach varies by individual.
After an investigation and review process, ROC confirmed on December 23, 2024 the specific individuals affected by the breach. Regional Obstetrical Consultants is mailing a notice letter to individuals whose information was determined to be in the compromised files and for whom a valid mailing address is available.
