Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the QuoteWizard data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
QuoteWizard.com, LLC, a subsidiary of online loan marketplace LendingTree, experienced a data breach where an unauthorized third party accessed certain business systems using a service account credential. This unauthorized access was discovered on June 11, 2024. Following an investigation, QuoteWizard determined that consumer data including names, residential addresses, and driver’s license numbers may have been accessed or disclosed without authorization.
According to reports, QuoteWizard may have been one of the victims of a handful of data breaches affecting cloud-based storage provider Snowflake.
A threat actor who goes by the alias Sp1d3r reportedly claimed responsibility for the QuoteWizard data breach, stating in a post on the dark web that 2 TB of data pertaining to over 190 million people were stolen.
