Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the PLA data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Pallet Logistics of America, a pallet company and logistics provider that does business as PLA, identified suspicious activity in its digital environment on September 6, 2024. The company took measures to halt the activity and engaged independent cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident and assess if sensitive information was compromised. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual accessed limited files stored in PLA’s legacy systems rather than its active systems.
Reports submitted to the Maine Attorney General’s Office reveal that the data sets affected by the PLA data breach included names, Social Security numbers and/or driver’s license numbers, with 18,264 individuals affected by the incident.
