Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Philips Respironics data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Philips Respironics International Colorado, Inc., a subsidiary of Philips Respironics, announced a data breach involving private information of over 457,000 patients. The breach was linked to a security vulnerability in the MOVEit Transfer tool, which was exploited by unauthorized parties on May 31, 2023. The compromised data includes names, addresses, dates of birth, contact information and certain medical information, such as patient IDs and device usage details. Philips Respironics responded to the incident after confirming unauthorized access on November 2, 2023.
Patients are now being notified via letter of the Philips Respironics data breach, with some healthcare providers including Rotech Healthcare and Forward Healthcare also posting about the incident on their respective websites.
